ANCESTRY: Descended from Warinus de la Strode (born 1020 in Bretagne, France), a French knight who lived at the time of William the Conqueror
NOTEWORTHY: John Mildenhall was a British explorer and adventurer and one of the first to make an overland journey to India. He was the self-styled ambassador of the British East India Company in India. He was the only Englishman to ever visit both royal courts of the Emperors Akbar and Jahangir. His is the first recorded burial of an Englishman in India. ("England's Quest of Eastern Trade", chapter xvii, pub. 1933 by A & C Black)
